Along the lake's shores there are many villages to visit walking through the characteristic city centres or along the lake-front, as for example the Vello-Toline route for bikes and pedestrians. Moreover there are many naturalist locations where you can spend a fantastic bathing holiday, choosing a little free beaches or beaches equipped with all bathing and refreshment facilities. Going South the Torbiere Natural Reserve invites you for relaxing walks in the wild nature. And in the middle of the lake, the beautiful Montisola offers you the opportunity for a full relaxing excursion, walking at your pleasure without the traffic of means of transport: in fact on the isle there are only few means for public utilities, public transport and first aid, but the almost 2000 inhabitants can only move by motorcycle or bike. The two small private islands of Loreto and San Paolo can only be approached for a picture during a boat tour, or also while using the public boats to reach your trip destinations all along the shores.
2.
The mountains
The mountains surrounding the lake offer many simple walks and trekking for all levels. The walks for everyone can be for example the ancient Valeriana route in its part which is nearest to the lake, between Pilzone and Pisogne, or the walks to reach the big benches where you can take a panoramic picture. A beautiful walk but also rich in culture is the visit of the park of engraved rocks in Camonica Valley, where the kids in school age will also have the occasion to experience live the incisions left on the rocks from the prehistoric inhabitants as they study at school. There are then more difficult trekking trails as the mountain stages of the ancient Valeriana route or the visit of the park of Zone's pyramids, where the rain washing the land has created these curious conical structures with a rock on their top, or also the route for Guglielmo mount or Trentapassi mount.
3.
The Franciacorta area
The Franciacorta area is situated from the southern of the lake going south for some kilometres till Orfano Mount, and it corresponds to the area where the moraine ground of the ancient glacier have become hills where for many centuries people have been planting vines. We can find documents from the XVI century where the production method of sparkling wines with second fermentation in the bottle is described, that is the classic method used also for Champagne production. It's from the Sixties that the method was perfected and codified, giving birth to Franciacorta wine. This area is studded with marvellous wineries, which are often open for sightseeing tours of their production process and for tastings of these exceptional wines along with the local gastronomy. It's also an area where you can have fantastic walks or bike tours in the middle of the vineyards nature... with a tasty break!

Sport activities
In addiction to the possibility to have easy walks, bike tours and bathing holidays including kayak, canoe or sup tours for the most quiet visitors, Iseo lake thanks to the variety of the surrounding environments, allows you to have sport experiences for every difficulty. There are for example internationally known running events along the shores as the 25km Sarnico-Lovere and many others. For those who prefer cycling, the lake tour is one of the favourite routes with its 65km length, but there are different associations and activities proposing excursions with bike rent included which can also be added to a trekking trail in the mountains for the most expert. There are moreover sailing and kitesurf practised in some locations where the winds are stronger and for interested people it is also possible to do paragliding or climbing.
