The cycle-pedestrian road Vello-Toline was the street used by car until the Sixties, when the largest street, more suitable for the growing car traffic, was inaugurated some meters higher. This route that colleagues Vello (small part of Marone village) and Toline (small part of Pisogne) faces directly on the lake and it was built digging in the calcareous rocks of the Corn Trentapassi, a mountain offering also many more difficult tracks having its top at around 1250 mt.

The route from Vello to Toline is around 4,5km long and requires around one hour of slow walking, suitable for everyone without particular equipments but also if you have a baby in a pushchair, as the road is practically plan, moreover you can find the old tunnels where you will refresh simply walking through them and if you want to sit down for a while you can find benches or seats on some trunks. You can find pay car parks in Vello, near the beginning of the track, or if you want also at the very beginning of Vello village where there are some free parking places adding around one kilometre to the length of the same, but if you want you can also reach Marone by train or ferry and start a longer walk from there, going back by train from Toline or Pisogne. In particular from Pisogne you can also choose to go back by ferry. If you prefer you can also rent a bike (see our article about contacts for sports) and do the entire excursion in complete freedom from the means hours. You can actually find many cycling paths on the road to Vello, excluded some short parts.

During the track you will appreciate the lake sight, the Bergamo's shore in front of you with the Bogn Orrido in Castro that especially in the morning hours as it is hit by the sun light offers a very special sight, but you can also meet surfers or see some people sailing on their sail boats, as in this area of the lake the winds are quite strong. You will see also many aquatic birds as cormorants busy in their fishing operations or opening their wings to dry them up in the wind, or also see very gorgeous vegetation and very colourful flowers. Maybe, in the right season, you will be able to taste some mature figs directly from the trees growing on the lakeside. In the end, going back in Vello village you can restore in a very nice bar just outside the track, drinking something refreshing on their terrace directly on the lake or you can sit near the small port and look at the fishermen. A very nice way to recover after this beautiful excursion!
